Indus River Park Visit And Munich Festival

Hey    Lovely  Souls!

Last   Sunday   we   could   not   resist  the   gorgeous   grey  weather   and   went   to  visit  the   River  bank   park  Sukkur  almost   26  km  drive   from our  small   city   Khairpur.

We  had  no  plans  for  shopping  as  in  our  recent  visit  to  Karachi  we   did  LOT   to  have  all necessary  stuff   including  clothes  ,shoes  ,crockery  etc.

So  we   spent   most  of  the  time   sitting  by  the  river  ,enjoying  cool  breeze ,calmness   of   surroundings   and  watching   few   families  wandering  .

Unlike   northern    areas  Water   of  Indus  River     is  not  Crystal   clear   here   though    but  still  it  has  it's  own  Appeal   as  water    which   absorb   all   the  anxiety   and   filled     mind   with  absolute   peace   and   sense   of  fulfillment  :)

Captured   these  date   gardens  from  the  ride

while  crossing  old   bridge   captured  this  newly   built   bridge  parallel   to   older  one

most  of  local  visitors   come  here  in   evening  so   we  enjoyed  the  serenity   and  less  crowded  visit  this   time , due  to  recent   snowfall   and  rains  river  looked   like  one  with   "happy  calm belly" :)

My  kids   were  not  much  light  minded   at  the  moment  as  their final  exams  are  close (in  April)

You   can  see  the   iron  bridge which  is  used  for  train   and  other  traffic  ,it  was  built   in 18th  century   during  British  rule

A   kind  young  man  was  feeding  Siberian  birds   so  when  they  return  to  their  land  in  winters  can  bring  beautiful  memories along :)

Kids  insisted  for  pizza  but  hubby  is  not  satisfied  with  quality  so  we   had  lunch  in  same  hotel  where  we  often  go

white  cosmos  is  so  well comed  to  my  front  yard
i  again  don't  know  the  name  of   this  flower  ,it's  plant  is  tall  almost  4  feet ,huge  leaves  and  flowers  grow  at  the  stem  instead  of  branch

My  eldest   son  shared  these   interesting  pics  from  his  visit  to  some  kind  of  festival  in  which  mostly  people  have  worn  the  horny  caps ,i  tried  but  could not  search  the  name  of festival or  it's  origin

Such   events  cheer  me  up   when  so  many  hearts  feel   happy  and  enjoy  the  "togetherness" :)
I  believe  such   harmony   of  innocent   souls  makes  God  Happy  either !!!

His  first  selfie   since  he  left,  he  is  also  so  busy  with  his  exams

Took  this   quick  shot  while  ago but  sharp  sunlight  blurred  the  capture :(

Hope  you  will  take  great  care  of  your  self  and   keep   picking  up  the  blooms  of  peace  and  joy  from the  garden   of  life :)

Stay  BLESSED  my  precious  friends!

Hugs!!!

  1. I love visiting parks and I also love attending festival - like celebrations. Thus your post covers some interesting and fun seeming topics for me. I wonder what that festival that your son visited was. Local traditions from all over the world can be so interesting.

  7. I understand about the soothing effect of water flowing by. I can sit by the Missouri River for hours and just watch as the water moves downstream to join the Mississippi River. It is a good place to meditate.

  9. It was nice that your family went on another trip, Baili, and good for your husband on bypassing the pizza for dinner at your hotel - a much wiser idea. I hope that all goes well for your sons with their exams. I was almost thinking that the mystery flower resembled a poppy.

  10. I can imagine the peace and serenity you felt while beside the beautiful river, baili. The sound of running water is very soothing. And there is usually bird life of some kind near a river; it is always interesting to see whatever is around. It's one reason I love to walk beside the river in our town, too.

Your sons do look serious. I wish them well on their exams. And thank you for more beautiful flowers! I'll be glad to see ours start to grow, in about two more months' time. In the meantime, I'll enjoy yours :)

Those flowers are so pretty too...such a lovely post!😊😊

Please wish your son the very best of luck from me...I am certain he will do really well in his exams!

  13. I feel for each of your sons, Baili, facing exams. I am thankful that exams are behind me in this life! I am sure each will do his best because you and your husband have raised them with good values and habits. Thanks for sharing photos of the Indus River. It has always seemed exotic to me, a storied river right up there with the Nile, the Amazon, and the Tigris and Euphrates. The horny hats in your son's photo look like Viking hats to me. Perhaps the festival was celebrating Viking heritage. Your flowers are lovely. The photo of you is beautiful! Sending another big hug your way!

  14. The lovely pink flowers you have pictured that grow tall are Hollyhock I believe, they are a popular English country garden choice. They also come in light pinks, marshmallowy and white.
