Music Was My Passion

I   wore  music   as  dress  of  my  soul   when  i  was  little. I  didn't  know  then  that  what  really  music  is  and  how  it  treats   our  inner   world  ,i  just  loved   it.I  would  listen  it  all  the  time ,yes  almost  all  awakened  time :)

My  mom  was  simple  house  wife . I  heard  her  singing  slowly  while  knitting  or  doing  other  such  chores . When  she  would  see  us  she  would  stop  and  start  to  talk  about  anything  else .

I  loved  her  voice .She   seemed  to love  music  less though   she  had  loved   songs  from  movies she  had  been  watching  before  moving  to  the  village. May   be  by  singing  from  them   she  refreshed  her  memories .

My  father  had   excellent  voice  too  and  sang  hardly  few  times  for us  when  he  was in  quite  good  mood .He  would   tap  his  two fingers  on  the  back of other  hand  and  make  voice  with   mouth along  and  it  would  seem   as  there were  two  instruments  were  being played  ,one  voice  sounded  like  drum  beat  but  other  i can't  name specificity.

My  passion  for  music was  unbeatable . I  would  not tired  from  listening  it  from  dawn   to  till  next  dawn ,yes  it  actually   happened  sometime  that  i  listened  music  without  taking break for  many  hours ,specially  when  i  was  free  after   exams   and  was  liberated  to  listen  it  without  feeling  guilty .

Many  times  i  played  music  to  memorize  some  passage  better  as it  was  hard  to  do  so  quietly .Or   felt  abnormal  because  for me   music  playing  in  background  was  Normal  . Music  seemed  to  strengthened  my  brain   and  support   my  memory   to  save  my  lesson  in  my  memory box .

Music   worked   like  sunlight  that  absorbs  in  soul   and  unleash   all  the  caged  birds  of  imagination . Music  would   open   doors  to  unknown  worlds  that  existed  beyond  my  approach . Being   familiar   to  such   worlds   was  therapeutic.

Listening  music  for  years  and  most  time  of  the  day   made  me  optimistic . Looking   at  sights  while  cherished  music  is  being  played   was   exceptional   experience .Views   looked  more   vibrant  and  visible  than  usual. Music   brought  out  their   genuine   charm   to  my  sight.

For  instance   scenes   laid   before  my  eyes  would  stimulate  my  imaginative  power   and  i   would   feel  like   i  was  able  to  leave  my  body   behind. My   flight  over  the  glob   would  make  me   realize   that  how  small  the  world is.

I  would  be  able  to  transform   in   all  other  "beings"  and  their   pains   and   relieves "   felt   as  i  was  the  one  bearing  them.

I  am  not  wise   to  define  the  personal  experience  of  "ONENESS"   but  believe   me   it  is   something   magical . Once  you  go  through  it   and   you   feel  like  New   soul  within  you .Light  and  Free  from  all  Impurities .Selfishness  cannot  survive  this  experience  because  it  reveals  how  you  are  "Connected "  to  other   creations  of  your  Creator  and  how  your   good  or  bad  perspective  affects   the   whole   existence  of  "Oneness " .It  reveals  that  this  bonding  is  your  savior ! Or  you  will  be  a  drop  out  of  ocean. The  Ocean  of  humanity  and  Creativity by  Lord!

I  had   (have)  the  whole  universe  within  me.That  connection  made  me  so  "full  of  Faith" Faith  in  one  who  is  Creator of  all  and  Faith  in Goodness  whom   he  guard himself  always.

I  think  i  gained  this  attitude  because  i  heard  lots  of  music. It  kept  my  soul  Safe  from   harm  that  negativity  of this  world  could possibly  do.

Music  made  my  memory  strong .I remember  when  sitting  in  classroom   we  girls  would  start  to  memorize  for  test  right  after  break  ,i  was  the  one  who  hardly  needed  second  look  on  page . Girls  would  wonder  how  i  did  that  and  now  i  know  why  :)  Because  constant   supply  of  words   and  tunes   to my   poor  brain  made  him  habitual  to  memorize  immediately  lol.

Music  helped  me  to  think  and  write  better   for  which  is  necessary  to  "feel  better"

here is  a  ghazal (slow song)  one of  my  favorite among  so so many  others that  i  used  to  listen  alot  when i was little.

             link to the song :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bexqI6wj5CU

i  can  write  on  this  topic  for  days  but i  think  i  should  not bore you more :)

Do  you  love  music ?  how  it  helped  you ?

Blessings  to  all of you  dear  friends!!!

  1. Marvelous post Baili. Music is truly one of the great joys of life. I listened to it more when younger but it is still very important to me. It is really nice that your parents were able to sing well.

Your post has motivated me to go and listen to some music now.

  4. Hi Baili :) Music...I have a long history there! I used to LOVE listening to music. I went to concerts, I bought albums, tapes and cd's, I always had music playing, I would dance to music, sing alone...up until I got sick with depression and burnout. Then all I wanted was silence. I felt as though music was "noise". I still do for the most part. I prefer silence. But then I was introduced to Alex's music and it's very easy for me to listen to it, appreciate it and feel his emotion behind it. I don't think I'll ever have the same relationship I had with music I had back before the burnout, but I do appreciate what I do listen to!

But...having said all that! I used to play the piano. I haven't played in so many years, but when Alex and I move, we are going to look for a used piano for me so I can learn to play again. I would love to create music and play it, rather than listen to it! :)

    1. i am really sorry dear Rain that life has been bit depressing after accident for you

i can see how bravely you got out of it and how wisely you started to embellish your life with Positive energy which reflects not just through you strong beautiful personality but your way of living is proof that one can make anything Possible with Willpower and devotion to herself and her motives in life
my passion for music dimmed when my both parents died during one year ,i could not say goodbye to my father and this made me mentally disturbed for long ,until i realized that IT WAS NOT MY FAULT ,this realization reduced my guilt and i felt light and better
i find my love for music still powerful though it mostly depends on time i have for it and mood
i would love to hear your piano Rain ,hope someday you will upload and share your lovely play :)

  5. A wonderful post, dearest Baili!
I adore music, of all kinds. I think all music has the power to touch our Soul and influence our mood. And certain songs coming on the radio bring back happy memories, some even reducing me to tears.
Yes, music is incredibly powerful. I cannot imagine a world without it!😊😊

Lots of love and hugs ❤❤❤

    1. oh i always been thinking about this dear Debra that how burdened and shallow would be life without music
it is only music that keep us alive spiritually ,and keep pouring emotions within us
Emotions ,without which we may not have been called Humans

  8. Music is the way we communicate with souls. It may be our own soul. We sing to it and it sings back. It might be to another soul and we connect with each other. We can harmonize and dance together. Music needs no words so people understand each other even if they don't speak the same language. We even communicate with animals with music. As you may have guessed music is a large part of my life. I recently sent my granddaughter more than 3300 songs on a thumb drive. She works with autistic children using music. She plays violin for them and also plays music from other artists. It is good therapy for a lot of people.

    1. i agree that music connect us as humans even when we cannot identify words from each other dear Emma

and this connection whether it is to our own soul or to others is it's main feature because harmony with creatures and soul is most important among all
it bring us close and gives sense of relativity
how amazing and sweet of you to have such wonderful collection and forwarding it to your precious granddaughter :)

i know less about autism though i believe she is helping her students in great way , her job seems to be delicate yet sublime and remarkable
i bet they love her back :)

    1. i agree music can revolutionize our whole "thought system"
opening the closed windows of new perspective is easier for music than mere a speech because it has more delicacy to awake spirit gently and soak it with ideas soothingly
i heard from my parents how music worked to provoke patriotism in soldiers during war time

  13. Music seems to have magical properties that merely speaking does not have. I no longer listen to it except by chance as I prefer silence most of the time. But I know it is very important to many people, and indeed it was to me during my growing-up years also. I envy you your ability to concentrate with music on; I can't do that! I think that's why I need so much quiet time, because music distracts my thoughts. I can't think of two things at once.

That video is marvellous - so different from what I am used to. It sounds very difficult to sing.

actually i wanted to her how it seems for your ears :)

here our musicians and singers do lots and lots of practice before start their career
i mean it was this way when old singers and musicians sang ,i am not talking about the rock or fast music
it is totally opposite what i used to listen for years
it soothen the soul and deepened the thoughts and empowered the imagination instead of distracting them
i too cannot bear dreadful form of new kind of music if it is music

  20. ahh loved reading about your love of music and i went to youtube to listen for a minute and came back to say i really like his voice and the cadence and the vocality of it all. Music for me, is similar to fragrances which can take me back to childhood or propel me in my mind to a beautiful moment by moment feeling usually of an unconditional feeling of love. It reminds me and does wake me up. love your post.

I enjoyed reading your thoughts about your experience of music all through your life.
When I paint, I sometimes like to have music playing and, other times, its not so important... it must be if inspiration is needed, then music is the answer.
Thanking you again for sharing your thoughts with us xx I'm really enjoying reading through all your posts that I have missed over the past few weeks :D)

  23. Another wonderful post, Baili! I really enjoyed reading about the impact of music on your life. Humanity's musical roots are very deep, and science has established that music impacts the development of our brains and increases our ability to learn. Thank you for sharing the beautiful song by Ustad Amanat Ali Khan. I don't know what he was singing, but his voice had a calming, almost hypnotic effect on me. And his eyes ~ They were as compelling and soulful as his voice! His music felt mystical to me. I read that he was a classical and ghazal singer. I'm guessing that this was a ghazal piece, for it certainly felt like he was singing about love. Have a good one, my friend!
