Dear Friends !
Hope and pray that all of you are enjoying the ventures of life and changing
colors of weather . Though temperature is 19 to 38 within 24 hours now days still i
am so happy that the utter heat wave has passed which was above 50 in june july .
Today i am going to share about Pakistani food which is famous for being spicy and little bit oily too. But positive about it is that physically activities keep the people fit and healthy as people here in my home land are quite hard worker .
Being eastern country Pakistan gets lots of sun and all the four beautiful seasons come
with all their excellence and grace. Each season for atleast 2 months with extreme condition and 2
months of Pleasant weather before and after each extremeness .So that is why people
are mostly active and fresh with their happy stomachs . Because diversity of weather keep them lively and depression free . More than half of population lives in villages
and experience healthy ways of life which are though tough yet peaceful due to simplicity they have .
Pakistani eat three meals just like other people around the world including Evening Tea
with snacks or cookies which are essential for kids and young people particularly . Mostly food is eaten as a gathering of family .
In summer sun rises almost around 5am and sets also around 5pm. In winters sun peek around 6 am and set also around 6 pm.
People here prefer hot meals and tea is most popular hot drink throughout the country . Guest are asked to be server cold? or Hot ? and answer is 88% is hot which means Tea .
Now with the help of google image i will show you some most popular dishes of my country

It is also dinner time here and i have made daal (red pulse) And rice yum!!!
Some delicious looking food you've shared. My favourites would be the vegetarian dishes. I think the way of life in a village must be simpler with everyone working hard, but it's good to know that nutritious food provides energy. wishing you a blessed evening and good days ahead.
ReplyDeleteThat looks so lovely! And healthy!
ReplyDeleteHave a good week
Thank you for sharing those lovely photos of your favorite foods. Everything looks and sounds delicious which I am sure if served by you would be even more delicious as your love and kindness would enhance any dish.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day!
Oh dear Carol!
DeleteYou are very kind to say such nice words for me my friend. Thank you so much
Lots of great foods, Baili! The veggies and eggs, and the cabbage look delicious!
ReplyDeleteI love Cabbage Linda .
DeleteIt is almost momth to have fresh cabbage in market and i am waiting for it
I should not have looked at this post when I was hungry. Yummy all.
ReplyDeleteGlad this post made you feel hungry dear Annie!
DeleteFeeling hungry means healthy metabolism
Stop this! I'm trying to lose weight.
ReplyDeleteHahaha Joe i too believe in dieting ,each time while over eating i think i will definitely do it next time:)
DeleteThis food looks delicious! We have a local restaurant that serves Pakistani food. I absolutely love it (though I do not know how authentic it is). I love spicy food too.
ReplyDeleteThank you Brain
DeleteThat is nice that you are already familiar with Pakistani food .
Can't say the place where you go but if you are talking about ingredients used in our traditional food are only NATURAL and hundred percent authentic
These dishes all look so good! I think it might be hard for me to eat many of them as I can't eat spicy food. Are stomach problems evident at all in your country? More and more people I know have to take medication for excess stomach acid, as I do. I would love to be able to eat these foods :)
ReplyDeleteYes Jenny you are right that people suffer with stomach problems but we can't say that it's all because of spicy food.
DeleteThere are many other factors like eating in hurry ,over eating, much use of oily or deep fried food and above all mental disturbance.
Since childhood i saw my mother cooked healthy food which means less oily and less spicy still i suffered with stomach ulcer and i think biggest reason for this was my extra sensitivity which caused me digesting disorder
You are so right - oily and deep-fried food are other things that bother me also. And I think that extra sensitivity is really the heart of the problem for me as well. I have been like this for a long time but it gets worse as I get older. I hope you are feeling well and can eat your delicious meals :)
DeleteDoctor put me on Proton-pump inhibitor medication omeprazole for my stomach acid. It works. I have Barrett's esophagus which can turn into cancer if not treated.
DeleteI am sorry John for your Stomach disease.
DeleteI suffered with stomach ulcer for more than 14 years unknowingly and one suddenly when went for check up doctor held my wrist and declared that i have wound in my stomach which is causing internal bleeding since 14 years ,meanwhile i was not taking my misery seriously and life had so many other things to do but now i know that if one is not healthy inside all seems WASTED
Oh it all looks so good. The cauliflower dish especially caught my eye and made my stomach rumble.
ReplyDeleteYour food looks so delicious. The cook can make the food less spicy if you like.
ReplyDeleteYes you said right John and i learned this from my mom who always preferred less oil and less spuces unlike her mother and sister .
DeleteI am getting hungry looking at all these wonderful dishes. They look delicious, Baili, especially the chicken rolls. Your bread is different than ours here. And you have pizza! I like spicy food, but not too spicy. I didn't realize you get all the seasons and hot tea is enjoyed. I have my evening tea as well. : ) Thanks for sharing these popular dishes with us. It was an interesting post.
ReplyDelete~Sheri
It looks so delicious. :) xx
ReplyDeleteThe food looks wonderful, Baili. I would like to try everything, though not all at once.
ReplyDeleteThank you dear Marie.
DeleteOh my! At once ? Sounds Hard lol.
Remind me eatong competition on t.v shows, oh it looks painful to me
looks DELICIOUS.
ReplyDeletenow i am so hungry!!!
thinking of you, dear. <3
Lots of love dear Ashley!
DeleteLooks so good!!!
ReplyDeleteIt is clear who wins the arguments (if any) at your home. Keeping you happy brings the tummy some yummy rewards.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you and Thank you
Hahaha!
DeleteArguments are tonic for digestion now .
We both (hubby n me) never stop to argue therefore
They do look very nice.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you can feel less heat nowadays. 38 is still hot but the relief is obviously relative when you've had 50 plus - wow!
Good wishes to you Baili :D)
Thank you dear Sue!
DeleteYes we are at relief nowadays because from May heat starts growing and June July are really hot with 50 plus temp so less than 40 is happy season here if outdoor activities are less
Oh, I love all these dishes! They look so yummy. I should search for a good Pakistani restaurant to go with my husband. We'd both enjoy it very much.
ReplyDeleteThank you dear Martha!
DeleteHope you will like them as i can sense .
Actually food on restaurants here is highly spicy so we avoid mostly .really few serve with homely tastes .hope you find some better place to check these delicious meals
We have a few Pakistani restaurants near us, and I love eating briyani.
ReplyDeleteWow that is great ausiroo my friend.
DeleteWe too are fond of biryani but keep it less spicy as compare to one available on restaurants.
Oh these are beautiful dishes! I had never seen this traditional bread that looks like a swirl - it looks like maybe you would use the bread to scoop up some of the other food?
ReplyDeleteThank you dear friend!
DeleteYou are right we use bread to eat along all other dishes as main part of meal.
Sometimes rice are used instead of it
I am sincerely interested in creating these foods (dishes). Thank you so much for sharing. While you and your country enjoy sipping tea most of all, we tend to do that in the US as a comforting break in the morning, afternoon and evening. Iced tea is a wonderful, and so enjoyed as a drink at lunch and dinner, especially in restaurants.
ReplyDeleteDo you have cold winters? Just not sure.
Jane xxx
Glad you liked our food enough to try it dear Blondie!
DeleteHow strange that iced tea is used here quite less ,i had it twice in my whole life with friend who was Chinese lady in her beauty parlour and liked it though it was winter .
It is weird that i like icecrem in winters more than in summers unlike my other family members.
Yes we do have extreme winter from December to January and i really love this season though my knee doesn't
Hi Baili - it all looks delicious ... I'd like to try one dish at a time - that'll keep me busy for a few months! So I can savour and remember the tastes ... I think I'd need to have them here in slightly cooler conditions! They certainly look good - and I'm sure your hubby enjoyed his tea after you'd written this post! Cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteThank you dear Hillary!
DeleteI think it is always good idea to try different foods from different corners of the world it made us feel BETTER for eavh other and bring hearts close to each other.
You should try this my friend and asure you that YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!
I had to keep my pray shorter last evening and yes hubby enjoyed the tea with me little late but it did not spoil his mood because i had quite exhausted busy day yesterday as i washed my grains for whole month use and was already tired .
Why didn't he made tea for both of us ?.Actually he got a call from a friend who always make long calls (half hour, can you believe) so tea was little late yet having it together in good mood made it one more nice memory
Oh dear, I am drooling!! So many beautiful dishes. Your family is so very lucky to have such a wonderful cook. I'm sure it was all eaten very quickly indeed!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week :)
Thank you dear Prunella!
DeleteI shared above a some of the most popular dishes of my country.

Yes by the grace of God i can cook tasty meal which is mostly being appreciated by the family and friends
Hello dearest Baili, you don't imagine how hungry also I became when seeing these wonderful photos. I too would prefer vegetarian dishes, but everything looks so good! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing these very interesting posts.
Blessings and hugs! ♥
Thank you my precious friend Sara!
DeleteI still remember how much i disliked vegetables though did not even meat but vegetables were never been liked by me specially in my teenage.
But by the time like many other things vegetables also came in the circle of my liked and now even my favourite choices.
We learn gradually that all tempting things cause harm mostly and all boring simple things have stable and positive aspect for us.
The dishes look so interesting and tempting. Only a few of them are similar to th dishes we eat in my part of the world.
ReplyDeleteThank you dear Chairie!
DeleteThis sounds great that inspite of living so far how close amd similar we are as human family!!!
Lovely food. I make some of these dishes from a little cook book. My favourite is lentil daal with naan bread and hubby makes a cauliflower and chick pea curry. The mint dip looks cooling, we make similar but add yoghurt. Would love to read more about your lifedtyle, what games chidren play? What crafts ladies do.. sewing? It is very interesting.
ReplyDeleteThank you dear friend Fairy!
DeleteHow amazing that you make some of the same dishes and how nice that your hubby too make eastern kind of dishes!
My hubby also used to do cooking some years ago but now doctor advised him to stay away from heat as much as possible since he survived from Hepatitis.
Mint and coriander dip has many kinds in different areas. We too use yogurt mostly when use it with Biryani.
I am glad that you want to know more and believe me even i want to share more anout our lifestyle here as it is actually what blogging about that is what i think so i will shre some more of it in my next post hopefully.

ReplyDeleteThese look delicious! Vegetarian dishes are my favorite. Fortunately, we have, in this area, many restaurants that serve cuisine from your part of the world and I'm learning a bit about how to prepare some of these dishes myself. Thank you for sharing.
