Chickpea Flour And Malaria

Hello Sweet Souls!

Hope all is well and weather is friendly at your part of land . Our temperature is reaching 36 until now . Weather is dramatic with fast appearance and disappearance of clouds  and breeze .

I want to thank you all for lovely comments on my previous post, your support makes my effort worth it no doubt!  I was reading  Dorothy 's post about soaps and how she love to buy different fragranced soap during her travels .That reminded me to how long ago i quit using (for bath) soaps . I think it's been more than eighteen years that i don't use soaps for bathing. The reason to do so was prickly heat that kept me troubled for many years when i moved here in hotter part of our country. We visited skin doctor many times but whenever it was summer i would suffer with prickly heat from July to late September particularly .

I have mentioned about how i had instinct to learn from (first)radio and then Tv . Remember Nadia Khan show i mentioned few time that how much i learnt from her show to improve my life style. The exercise was first thing i learnt from her show and i could not believe how it transformed my life within months and i wasn't the same woman laying on bed sadly and wondering how will she gather strength to do house chores . Regular exercise made me stand firm and straight which seemed impossible right after the birth of second child who came ten years after his elder brother.

Secondly it filled me with mental and physical power and everybody from in laws was astonished with how quick and efficient i have become .

The other thing i learnt from her show was how to get rid of skin issues by quitting the soups . The show had regular segment in which nation's popular Chef and herbalist    would share Zubaida Aapa her tips for different things. Once she told that she does not use soap for washing face of bathing but chickpea flour by adding some lemon juice, a tea spoon of glycerin can be added as well when lemon is unavailable. I took this advice seriously because of sever skin issues i was suffering from . I realized it worked for me by the grace of God and no such problem i faced ever again . She said that if you will rub your skin right after washing it with any beauty soap your skin will leave dust particles .But this no such thing you will experience after using this recipe . She was true because it cleanse skin really .

I was feeling little down since few days ,two days back i got high cold chills and fever . Hubby took me to the doctor immediately and doctor diagnosed Malaria so i had to break my fast in order to take medication only when there were two hours left to break it :(

i haven't fast today nor i will for further two days . I will see afterwards if my inner strength allows me .

Thank you for being with me dear friends!

Health ,peace and happiness to all of you and to all you love!

  2. So interesting about what you use. This is very intriguing. I am so glad it works so well, too.
We have had some cold here. Winds that made it feel like winter once again after so many spring days. Even some dry snow. With an early spring means early allergies for me.
I hope you are on the mend and I am so glad you went to the doctor. All the best to your health and all that you learn. Thanks for being here. All the best to your creativity.

  5. Oh Baili, I am so sorry to hear about your malaria. I had a professor in university who was in Africa during WW2 and contracted malaria. He had a bout of it the year I had him for a course forty years later. I pray there is a cure for that dread disease. Take care, my friend. You will be on my mind!

    1. many thanks for sharing your warmth dear Marie !
if i got it right you probably observed a single case of malaria in your entire life ?

okay i just checked online meaning of "bout of malaria " and i want to thank you so much for mentioning it here because my parents and i used to suffer with malaria time to time but i am embarrassed to say this that i never dig about the disease because i thought that is how it is ,i mean we have abundance of mosquitoes here and of all kinds probably except during three to four months of extreme temperatures (May to Late July) same case is in the northern part mosquitoes are everywhere . so in my mind this is how we get malaria and wasn't curious more about the disease but as now you pointed out i will see how many and what types of the disease are in the world . my youngest son gets the cycle of disease during specific season as well like me .
doctors medicine provide timely support ,it is third day and i am feeling quite well by the grace of God ,two days medicine remains
you too are in my mind always dear Marie ,this means lot !!!

  7. Are you well now? I hope so.
My sister has severe skin allergies too. She has finally found three different cleansers for her face. She is afraid of developing an allergy if she uses any one of them for too long so she rotates their use.

skin allergy is horrible .i had issue of prickly heat only when i had to live here after marriage but my sister who lived with us for four to five years got worst allergy of her life time during her stay .she had huge blisters on her face ,she was very white and pretty yet she was anxious about her beauty and would visit to herbal stores and use homeopathic medicine to enhance it which caused her sever skin issues that lasted for one and a half year almost .
glad your sister found her way to stop allergy

  8. I'm sorry you have not been feeling well, baili. Hopefully your medication will work as it is intended and you will feel better soon! Very interesting about the substitute for soap. I am having problems with dry and itchy skin the last few years and can't use anything with scent in it. I will see if I can find chickpea flour and glycerin here and give your suggestion a trial. Thank you for including that in your post :)

    1. precious friend Jenny it is always a pleasure to hear from you!

this is third day of taking medicine and i am feeling quite normal by the grace of God ,it was heavy sand storm last night and doors and windows of houses kept banging whole night , in the morning i found my whole house packed with sand and it is utter joy that i had strength to clean it ,except yard that hubby cleaned before leaving for office ,
when it comes to post i often decide on the moment what to write as post and this is why i mostly forgot share such things i experienced in life because i write what comes in my mind at that time when i am sitting before laptop and behind the conscious mind there are so may other things going around .But reading posts of friends like you helps a lot and i instant flash of memory regarding topic :)
it helped me and still does because it cleansing with this is deep . one more thing you can do with face which i too do when i have to go to attend some event (because i don't got to beauty parlor) ,apply the mixture of chickpea flour and lemon juice on face (use warm water to mix ,it helps to dry faster) and let it dry then go to wash it .
always welcome from the bottom of my heart dear Jenny!

i am blogging since 2009 and i hardly noticed that any blogging friend had mentioned this disease . if i remember correctly my both parents would suffer with high fever followed by high chills ,once or twice in a year ,i accurately remember my worst attack when i was in my mid twenties and my first child was a toddler . since then i go through it once or twice a year
      thanks for the best wishes

  14. I'm sorry to hear you are suffering from malaria. I pray you will get completely well. We don't have malaria in Canada but they have in my husband's country of Kenya. I think malaria happens in tropical countries where mosquitos live. We do have mosquitos in Canada but I read that it is a different mosquito that transmits malaria to people. I'm interested in the chick pea and lemon mixture. I'll look for more information about it on You Tube.

It is forth day of medicine and I am feeling lot better by the grace of God!
This is shame I didn't know that malaria belong to tropical countries only. I checked last day after reading Marie 's comment and got that I have bout of this disease which mean it keep visiting me once in year. Conclusion seems that treatment is effective for while only.
Oh how nice that my simple tip can be useful for my friends: )
Hope it will work for you as well as it did for me .

  18. Dear Bali, I am late in reading this post and sorry to read that you were sick with malaria and hope you are recovering. Your husband was a wise man to take you for medical attention quickly. It was interesting for me to read about how you could not use soaps because of resulting skin conditions, but that chickpea flour provided relief. Also, thank you for your very kind reference to my previous post. I do enjoy using soaps purchased on our travels because this means they are not "collectibles" they will gather dust. My only problem now is having too many soaps as the handmade ones last much longer than store-bought ones.
