Knee Bone Issue Will I Be Able To Walk Again?

 Hey kind hearts

Hope beating gratefully under the blessings of Creator!

Sharing result of knee X-ray. As i have mentioned my knee pain time to time on my blog since some six to seven years i guess it suddenly got worst and it was impossible to take walk or bend my knee. Another doctor had got such X-ray around five years ago and told all is fine.He treated me for uric acid for three months and that's it. Pain reappeared after two years and same doctor gave me same medication course for three months once again.

I felt slight pain during winter season but everything seemed fine over all. One and a half month ago knee pain returned dramatically and within weeks i lost my mobility completely.

This time hubby wanted to take me to the Karachi so we can find better surgeon who can diagnose root cause of the issue. We were ready to leave on weekend but one of hubby 's friends called and insisted to visit to certain bone specialist near our city. We visited the doctor. He  was foreign returned and had worked in various countries including middle east. Doctor had his own big private hospital.we had to wait for more than three hours. He told that it is early stage of the degeneration of the bone and if patient cooperated things can get better.

He injected into knee and gave medicine along with vitamins.

I asked him how many injection are needed.he said consider it as you color your hair once they get fuzzy. regular injection will keep your knee flexible.

I think he meant injection will continue for life time probably.

I stretch while sitting or standing but not walking even pain is suppressed by the medicine.it is part of cooperation as patient.my eldest son and elder both showed concen  as they know how much I might miss walking.

Did any of you go through knee issues?

May be you can give me hope that i will be able to walk again???

  2. So sorry to hear of your severe knee pain! I know several people with this problem, especially as they age. (Luckily, my knees are fine). Sometimes they get knee replacement surgery, which often helps (but not always). Steroid injections like you're receiving can help too.

  3. I'm so sorry to hear that you are dealing with osteoarthritis, Baili. It's my understanding that people with osteoarthritis need to exercise. The Arthritis Foundation says that research shows that people with osteoarthritis can and should exercise, that exercise is considered the most effective non-drug treatment for reducing pain and improving mobility. The foundation recommends gentle stretching and walking, among other things.

I mentioned in my last comment that I hurt when I don't stretch and work out. That's because I have both osteoporosis and osteoarthritis. I make myself stretch and workout, starting gently and working harder over time. It really helps me.

Of course you should always consult with your doctor, Baili! Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers and sending you hugs and love.

  6. It is always sobering to find our bodies are not doing what they have done easily for our whole lives. I get knee pain if I sit tooo much, then I know I have to slowly start getting more exercise to strengthen the muscles surrounding the joint. My husband had osteoarthritis and was given exercises to strengthen those muscles too. I hope your doctor gives you permission to start some gentle exercises as well. Let us know how you get along. I'm glad the injection has reduced your pain.

    1. Dear Jenny i did morning meditation over holy book for 13 years almost and by sitting in yoga position for two hours daily.i think problem started from this. Although i would do my yoga strps for half hour before that and i believe this is why my knee muscle or bone took long time to degenerate.without exercising regularly the degeneration might have speed up.
This is nice you do some work out to strengthen your muscles.
Injection gave quite fast relief which seemed unbelievable at first.but i am being cautious for long term cure 8 too hope doctor will allow me for ten minutes walk at least and light yoga steps

  10. Hello Baili. I wonder what was in that injection, did the Dr. tell you?
My husband has two artificial knees and could walk well anywhere but of now he's much older his knees are still the same, doing well but he can't walk far but that is due to other things and age. My husband had injections in his knee at one time and that did help him greatly.
Hope that helps. All the best.

  12. I hope you can find solutions for your knee. You are so active with your yoga, and so on. I have a friend who takes knees injections every couple of months. And she is doing much better. I had to have some similar in my hand a Cortisone shot. My middle finger locks up. But since then, it is much better. Just a slight click. Thank you so much for the update. I hope your summer is cooling down and the power is on. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Peace be with you and much joy in all that you do.

  13. Hello!

I'm truly sorry to hear about your struggles with knee pain. It sounds incredibly challenging, especially given how it’s impacted your mobility.

From what you’ve described, it seems like you’re under the care of a knowledgeable specialist who is addressing your condition with injections and medication. This approach, especially when combined with regular treatment, can sometimes help manage symptoms and improve mobility. The idea of needing ongoing injections, as the doctor mentioned, can be daunting, but it often means the treatment aims to keep inflammation and pain under control, potentially helping maintain your mobility.

Knee issues, especially related to degeneration, can indeed be managed with the right treatment and lifestyle adjustments. Many people with similar conditions find that physical therapy, exercises to strengthen the muscles around the knee, and sometimes lifestyle changes can significantly improve their ability to walk and maintain a good quality of life.

While I can’t predict your specific outcome, many have found relief and regained their ability to walk comfortably through a combination of treatments. Staying positive and consistent with your treatment plan, as well as following your doctor's advice, will be crucial.

It might also be beneficial to consult with a physical therapist who can tailor exercises and strategies to your specific needs and help maximize your mobility.

Remember, every individual's experience is unique, so your persistence and cooperation with your treatment plan are key. I hope you find improvement and regain the ability to walk comfortably.

Sending you best wishes for your recovery.

  14. Praying for you dear friend! I know how concerning this issue is, and hopefully you can get some answers and help without getting a knee replacement. My mother had her knees replaced and has done really well with them, but it is a difficult couple of years to heal and get mobility back. Praying for you to find answers and healing health to your body!

  15. Knee issues seem to be a problem experienced by so many people, including my brother, but thankfully I have not experienced any similar issues of pain of lack of mobility. I hope that the doctor's medication will help you do some walking because to do nothing would seem worse. You didn't say whether knee replacement surgery was an option, so I wondered about that possibility, Baili.

    1. Sorry your brother is dealing with same issue . how great you don't have such problem.
Medication has helped me to walk and do house chores thankfully
My next visit to the doctor is on next Friday I will ask him if it is safe to take walk.
Indeed doing nothing is scary God forbid.
According to doctor my issue is at its beginning stage so it can be fixed without surgery with medication only

    Thanks for sharing your thoughts
I think i have got this issue quite early if consider my age 54 is not that old to have knee degeneration.
Sorry your brother has similar problem
Doctor said that issue can be fixed without surgery

  17. No experience with that but I sure hope you get complete healing in some way, physically and yet spiritually also. Matter is spirit infused and spirit is all particle energies. It's like water - the experiments that have been done. When we bless our water and feel peace and at one the water resonates and vibrates to that and under a microscope it can be seen. Same with our bodies. I will email you an amazing healing I had if that's okay.
