Worst Earthquake In Turkey

Heard the heartbreaking news about one of the worst earthquake in Turkey and Syria which caused more than six thousand deaths until now. Each life has unique value and thinking of such devastating situations melts my heart down so badly.  Natural disasters are cruel and invade suddenly. I remember an earthquake in my native province that occurred in  8 November 2005 in morning. It had took more than 70000 live and injuries equal to it. Such huge accidents change life of millions forever. Words fail to speak what I feel right now. Just hopping that may who lost their loved ones find content and peace soon and may man can find ways to protect precious human lives through science and technology.

    1. It has been always there for people dear. Man has been vulnerable to natural disasters since beginning and he is until now despite all the modern precautions. If see carefully in life death walks along us from first breath to the last in the form of numerous probabilities and accidents. We walk on the rope pretending that all is good consciously or unconsciously. Natural disasters are louder and most obvious face of such probability though

  10. That's a terrible disaster, and the videos coming from there were shocking. No word can console and define the devastation of lives and livelihoods there; I wish the death toll did not rise and people were rescued alive as much as possible.

  13. It seems unimaginable to feel pain of victims in this time dear Jenny. I remember that morning so clearly more than any other morning of my life when my mom called at 9am and told about one the most horrible earthquake in Balakot hardly one and a half hour away from my hometown. The whole fell on ground while all people were sleeping in their homes. First that shock freezed me for few days and when ice melted tears could not stop for months. If one who just heard and not witnessed it can be such devastated what about people who Lost families all the sudden, are desperate to find bodies of their loved ones and inju, homeless cold and shivered with trauma and fear of days ahead. This pain will mark their souls forever

  17. The earthquakes in Turkey and Syria are tragic. It's devastating, Baili. My heart goes out to the survivors because of what they are suffering, especially the loss of loved ones.

At this time there is not much you can do about earthquakes. Scientists can study and monitor potential earthquake zones in the hope that understanding earthquakes can help them make more accurate predictions and issue warnings.

One thing that can help mitigate the damage is constructing buildings, roads, dams, etc that are stronger and more able to withstand the power of earthquakes. Unfortunately this is a long slow process and sometimes construction workers take shortcuts to make more money. People who haven't experienced a major earthquake often find it hard to believe it could really happen to them. Sadly, we've learned that governments aren't always in a position to help.

You can educate yourself and have some supplies like water and food on hand in case of a natural disaster, but that's no guarantee you'll survive. That said, lol, I always have shoes, a robe, and a flashlight by my bed at night in case I have to flee for some reason. Guaranteed, I'll have forgotten to have those things nearby if something does happen.

You have a tender and compassionate heart, Baili. Take care, my special friend!

  18. i agree that making buildings that can withstand with earthquakes is time taking and long slow process my friend. authorities must begin this process from somewhere because people living in there countries are their responsibilities and they are answerable to their God for their life and properties .
so true that despite of all the modern advancement most of us have no guarantee that we are safe in our homes .anything can happen anytime and no time can be there for picking up stuff and run .it has been happening in this world all the time and will keep happening until governing bodies of nations will think all people as equal as they themselves bearing same right to live and survive
    love you !
