About My Days And Heart

It  is 1 pm noon almost.I just  got break from kitchen  while cooking biryani (chicken rice) . Chicken is being ready in my slow cooker .I have put water to boil so i can add rice and let it boil for few minutes. It is nice to cook in kitchen painted by my favorite colors .

I washed my three blankets two days ago .It was "must" job of the season though not as urgent. We don't need blankets until now yet weather  is  something  less trustworthy so i thought i better do it now instead of delaying .You can call me a work hunter .I like when i find something to do which keeps me not just busy but for better reason :) I realize  that physical  hard work  makes me feel better despite of tiredness .It makes blood flow quick in my veins and brain seems bit awaken too .

I try to put my brain exercise once in a while by attempting to solve puzzles  or joining dots but i confess i am not good at it at all :( Last day i gave an i q test for the first time and result was embarrassing.I gave three tests. Each had ten questions .I got 7 out of ten in first ,6 in second and 3 in third .

Website i used asked for my study level and age and then encouraged me with polite words i was waiting for and those were "may be you just had lunch " Or you have never gave this test before and trying for the first time " third phrase slipped away my mind which means my mind  is slow that's it .I wanted to type answer that "i did not have my evening tea because worker is painting wall ,but i did not find option so left quietly .I will try probably later .Now i can understand why my eldest son doesn't like coffee or tea most of the year but only during winters when he finds it necessary .He says taking it often makes body addicted to it and addiction makes one slave of thing he is addicted .If you cannot find it at  "time" you will starve for it . This is not good thing .

I  have realized that my longing for tea or coffee has decreased since i started to do my meditation and some yoga steps regularly .I take tea hardly twice a day now unless it is too cold ,then i go for third cup .I am happy about this change as i think it has influenced my eyesight for better .

I just took off my biryani from stove. It looks good hope my younger son will like it as it was his request for today .It is 2 pm now .Time seems to fly so quickly since i am old .I remember length of days was annoyingly unbearable sometimes when i was young .I don't know the reason.May be i  have never contemplated on the topic before. May be time we had  then seemed endless like space sooo vast that needed to be fulfilled with things of likening  But it was impossible task indeed .Now i know i have some years left (if have) only.Fog of illusions that  youth creates  has disappeared  so things ahead can be seen clearly.I want to be slow and enjoy them. The ability to taste the beauty of present days and blessings is late gift so i want to unwrap  it smoothly .I don't know if it is possible either or not yet i am enjoying moment i have right now  because that is all i can do to live happily :)

We will go to another city 50 km away from our city .One of my husband's niece is celebrating the khatna ceremony of her sons so family and friends are invited. It will take whole day so i thought to post today .Below few images to share my world with you ,

my eldest son went to London for two weeks ,he preferred to go there despite of lockdown as he said it was needed to change environment for some days ,he will keep working from home though .his updated visa will arrive in December probably so he can visit us probably eventually  in January ,with heart filled with prays i am we all are waiting for that day ! he sent this a week ago when he checked in his hotel in London ,i feel i was there walking on the clouds ,peaking down the earth bathing with sunlight ,looked soothing and hopeful from there ,spending sometime up there refreshes the whole perspective of life believe me

finally kitchen is mine ,wall above cabinets is painted and green and blue are filling my heart with pleasure :) i did not want this yellow or brown though but painter found it must for the contrast of design but it is bearable thankfully as green and blue dominate them well

                                                               my green blanket :)

other both you see are hubby's pick though

this one was prettiest blanket of all 6 we have but now has spoiled color because it was given to market laundry few times ,they used some extra powerful detergent probably ,i never sent any of my blanket for laundry again .

Okay dear Friends enough for today .Time for my younger one to go for tuition .there are news that school can be closed if cases increase but not until now .Hopping for good for all in this world!
Sending best wishes for days ahead for all of you !
keep being kind to you and all around friends ,this is all we leave behind when quit life !
Blessings!

  4. You talk of being old. You are but a baby and have so many years in front of you. For instance your sons will marry and have babies for you to love. You will be such a good grandmother.

  6. What you showed of your new kitchen is beautiful! That blue is especially delightful.

January is not so far away for your son's visit. I know you'll be counting the days. And I do know what you mean about time speeding up as we get older. It feels like I turn around once and a week has gone by.

  7. I like your last sentence. We leave memories for people who are still living. We should try to make those memories good memories. My sister died in 1953. Few people living remember her.

  8. Your biryani sounds really good - tomorrow my husband is making my favorite "Chicken fried rice" ...i love it and we will have left overs for a couple of days after that. I always enjoy reading your thoughts on your life and seeing photos. Your kitchen looks great. I am doing the same thing - getting blankets ready for winter and also i think i'm having family in for a few days over thanksgiving so need to wash the extra blankets.

i enjoy coffee in the morning . Not a tea drinker at all.

You still look pretty young to me. Now ,I'm what others would call old but I don't feel it and I just keep making sure I get out and move and feel energized all over again.

mine has done for me for many years occasionally but now he has to avoid heat so he doesn't anymore ,he survived from Hepatitis almost six years back actually and he following restrictions by physician

such a nice feeling to learn that we both are far away from each other yet doing same thing at same time :))) best of luck for extra wash i think you will use washing machine instead of hands like me :) my washing machine has no capacity for blanket actually
oh i used to take lots of tea that is most popular drink here in our country may it is preferred over coffee as we live in hot part of the land
we take coffee during winters though ,i love :)

    2. Wow, that must have been scare for your husband - glad he is better. Yes that's really nice- both washing blankets and yet mine are done in the washing machine. Although I have some quilts that are way too heavy - about four quilts I really need to take to the laundromat and use the bigger machines. My washer and dryer are still holding up at 12 plus years old but i'm afraid to over do it with them. Enjoy your weather and ohhh that beautiful new kitchen of yours. Husband does all the cooking anymore ..I just do a few things that are my specialty in a way although he has made them also and actually makes it better than I. I had enough cooking when my kids were young

  11. Kindness and friendship are two of the best things we can offer people that they will remember now and later. These are things that cost nothing but our time. Thanks for showing the painting in your kitchen, Baili. The colors are so cheerful and being able to cook indoors again a joy. I think many of us would not have done so well on some of those IQ tests, but you have much wisdom beyond any questions asked, so do not be overly concerned with those results, my friend. yes, time does become more precious with age.
Safe travels to you and your family for the celebration you will be attending.

  20. Dearest Baili...oh what a magical post!! I love how you have written it in the present moment...while cooking biryani (co incidentally one of my favourite meals!). It made me feel as if I were actually there with you...a truly rich experience!😮
You have certainly made me think! I drink a lot of coffee, and have noticed that my memory and concentration have become rather poor recently. I hadn't connected the two, but maybe it is the coffee! Many thanks for bringing it to my attention. I will try cutting it down to one or two mugs a day!👍
Oh how I love your beautiful blankets...so very colourful and bright!😊😊

Have a wonderful day, my beautiful friend!

I would take five to six time a day strong cup of tea
My mother would forbid to do so with threat of possible health issues but I would follow my heart
After marriage I continued to take tea often but after few years I started to feel dizy and eyesight seemed poor too .doctor advised to reduce use of caffeine, I tried and felt better since then I take less tea .now my longing for tea has lessened more after gallbladder surgery.
I hope you will also feel good after quitting it

  21. Hi Baili, "Time seems to fly so quickly since i am old." I smiled when I read that. Well, I too am old. :-) I have one of those little pill organizers for my medications. It has 7 slots ... one for each day of the week. I pick it up to take today's pills and find it is empty. But it seems like I just reloaded it a few minutes ago. Another week has gone by in a flash. :-) God bless you Baili. I enjoy your blog and the way you spread kindness in the blogosphere. Be safe and take good care my friend. I send you best regards from Seattle! John

blue and green are dominant colors of nature and love to spend time with two of them ,staring at sky and trees so green seems an experience spiritual to me :)

i agree that this virus demands some extra cautions and we have to adopt it for our own good ,here not complete curfew yet kind of smart lockdown ,hoping for better from Lord!

Your blankets are pretty and its always so nice when they're fresh from a wash, I love the smell of the outdoors on sheets, blankets and pillows. You did so well washing them by hand, you must have developed strong muscles in your arms and back over the years!

I'm sure your son was so pleased with your efforts! How delightful to have newly painted walls in your kitchen, it does make such a difference to enjoy the beauty where you spend so much time! The washed blankets are such a good feeling, to know that things are clean and ready for winter! I do hope that the cases of the virus go down in your country too. It seems like they are going up everywhere. How wonderful that your son got to go and enjoy London for a few days. I know you can't wait to see him when he is able to come back home. With many blessings to you dear friend, much love shared with you across the miles!
