For Sue ,a kind friend ♥️

Hello dear friends ♥️
Hope and pray that everyone is having blessed day by the grace of God!🙏

Our weather has taken a pleasant turn since it’s raining throughout the country including capital city Islamabad.  Temperatures are spinning around 35 to 24 c and you can imagine how it makes us happy and grateful 🥹🙏 Time is running speedily and days to get back to our hot city are getting closer. For the first time in life hubby and me don’t want to leave surprisingly 🤗. And it’s only because of the glassed wall that gives us strong feelings of connection with nature 🥹☺️🤗🥰🤗 it’s beautiful here with everything so perfect 🤗🙏 But we will be leaving for home before July ends anyway 😅. Sharing below glimpse of our little joys in previous week.
Dear friend Sue and I keep in touch once a while . Sue is a wonderful person who participates in life to fullest by the grace of God! She and her husband John run some company related to computer systems. She teach badminton to younger students and writes for a magazine as well for which she has to go through different ways including interviewing people from various professions and backgrounds. She inspires every heart who is in love with life 🥰 Sue has mentioned once that she would like to see highlights of markets I visit here. So I have captured not some perfect but random pictures during our visit to Karachi company market,I  always wondered about this dislocated name of the market so when I googled about it this article showed up Karachi company . Thanks Sue for showing interest in our capital city ♥️. I will try to share some more photos in future.

This year market seemed quite and lonesome because of CDS crack down of  illegal occupancy by  so many sellers. I realised that majority of the customers would prefer to buy from those cheap shops on midways and footpaths. Most of the shops had some, few or no customers. Hubby said the occupants will return by bribing the municipality because such changes don’t stay for long .

Bed sheets shop , I realised I never bought anything like this from here

Most of the shop owners use the walking area as well for which they have to pay extra charges I guess

The samosa  and pakora shop , such shops have long queues during morning and evening hours

Now, one of the lovely news , my dear friend Shazia visited us in our apartment and it made me so happy 🥰🤗 she came with her youngest son who is 20 years old and second year in university. Best thing she stayed for one night and two days which makes it longest period of time we spent together ever 😊 we had best time chatting 😍

We visited the Centaurs Mall where we did some shopping and had ice cream after few years 😃 children ate pizza and chips with cold drinks as usual. This will stay with me for long 🥰

Taken another day in same market while hubby and me were taking tea
Shot is taken in Safa Gold mall in Jinnah Super Market Islamabad

                                                  Karachi company market main entrance

Safa gold mall , embroidered shawls and other items

Toys shop in Safa gold mall

Safa gold mall has far smaller crowds than Centaurus Mall even after food court has been altered

While paying on the counter i took this shot as view was truly captivating

                                                         Jinna super Market main entrance

It was quick click while walking in the Golra market near by , it reminded me days when we would drink from clay pots in clay bowls,  though clay pots are things of the past now but clay things still fascinate and interest many of us even today including me 😊

Heartfelt thanks for bearing with me precious friends 🥰🙏
Health, peace and happiness to you all and to all you love 🥰🙏♥️♥️♥️

  2. This post feels like a warm hug from a dear friend. Love how you’ve captured those little joys—the rain, the quiet markets, a friend’s visit, and ice cream after years. It’s the simple things that stay with us the longest. That glassed wall and nature connection? Totally get why you’re not ready to leave. And shoutout to Sue—she sounds like a real force of light and energy. Hope to see more of your market adventures soon.

  8. Wonderful to see the markets inside, Baili. Many things to buy and I've seen photos and videos of the seller selling goods in front of those stores and can understand why they are not there in your photos due them not paying their fee to do so.
Lovely photos and I do like the one of you smiling with the cup of tea. Nice one of your husband too and you and your friend.
    Take care.

  9. I'm glad Sue asked to see the markets because I really enjoyed looking at them. The way things are set up reminds me very much of the market areas in many parts of Kenya, East Africa. It's wonderful that you had a friend visit you and that you were able to enjoy a good time together before you return home.

  15. Baili, that market area looks like it would be a great place to explore and spend $$. So nice that you were able to reconnect with your friend and spend time together. There are many things that $ cannot buy and a long-lasting friendship is certainly priceless!

  17. Loved all the photos - and love open air markets. I wish we had more in state. I guess in a way we do - but it's not the same really. There are craft fairs and flea markets, etc. Just not the same as a town or city with them. Photos are beautiful and you look so peaceful and happy in them.

  19. I love the pictures of you, Baili I am so glad that you are enjoying your time in Islamabad! Whenever we were in Asia, Terry and I loved visiting all the markets. Thanks for sharing your photos. It brings back so many wonderful memories.
I'm glad that you were able to spend time with your friend Shazia. My best friend Cheri is spending the summer in Colorado, but she and her husband bought a unit in a cooperative on the western side of town. It takes 50 or 60 minutes to drive there, so we talk on the phone more than visit. Her husband had hip surgery earlier this week, and so she and he are tied down. Outside of the summer, they live in Surprise, Arizona. We bid on a number of condos and homes there, but lost out to other buyers. I am so grateful, because now we are committed to staying in our home in Colorado.
Terry took me out for dinner tonight at our favorite Mexican restaurant, Las Fajitas. It was great. I love it because the margaritas are good, the food excellent, and I get lots of hugs from the staff. Terry is at the car before I'm finished saying goodbye and hugging everyone. What can I say? People like to hug me, even our renovation contractor. I know this is not the custom in your country, but it's okay here. And I love hugs! 😂. You look so serene and beautiful in your photos! It makes me happy. Love to you, Ali, and kiddos.
