Stuff Of My Life

We had worst sandstorm two days ago.Wind guts were really strong as when they would blow it would seems some scary monsters are screaming and attacking. Then noise of winds and showering tiny rocks ,sand particles and other things blown by wind would sound like judgement day had arrived .After two hours roaring showering sandstorm sky got cloudy but no drop of rain was part of it's plan. When we got up next morning it took us almost two hours to clean the house and dust everything off.More then one and half kg sand we removed from yard but we added it into the garden soil instead of throwing away as it fertile the soil.
Our extremely hot days have begun though our newly fixed shade in front yard is preventing us from heat caused by reflection of sunlight on the yard floor thankfully.
I forgot to mention that hubby has bought a plot in colony near.He did so by using money that was sent by our eldest son to buy ac.Actually hubby made our son to cancel the ac order first he had ordered for us sometime back.He himself wanted to choose ac and so he did. But latter he changed his mind.He thought that it will be good to invest this money in better thing. We wished to buy a house in Islamabad since quite long but saving for this purpose has been difficult as different things come up and  little bit savings spend inevitably.Hubby had little saving and money sent by son provoke him to buy land here so we can sell it when we will be needing money for purchasing house in Islamabad. So we did not buy ac yet.

There is another reason for not buying ac that since we have paid half amount in start  for the plot and half  will be paid in 12 installments which will be from hubby's salary so even if we buy ac as our son wants us (he want to send us money again) paying high electricity bills will be  extra load for us.Except really few people  most of the people here rich or middle class don't pay for their ac billing but they bribe to technicians with forth percent of possible bill who provide them direct wire from the pole instead of meter. This is how people pay so less for high expenditure of light by their ac. We could have  done this long ago  but i feel uncomfortable with this method. It seems theft to me simply.
I finished listening Tolstoy biography by L. Winstanely. I grew up reading quotes by Tolstoy and so many other great men of thought. Now when i have found way to reconnect with books  i want to know about men who's words inspired me throughout my life.So my passion of leaning about life and universe stands along my desire to learn about people who had power to describe their vision of life.
I really enjoyed knowing about Tolstoy who belonged to aristocratic family though but had great appeal for the meaning of life .And he believed to achieve it through living among ground realities ,hard work and compassion. According to author and according to summary of Tolstoy works author shared Tolstoy 's work reveals how human psychology and behavior change with different courses of life and make him better or worst person according to his attitude .
I have now started to hear Story of my life by Helen Keller. It is also like dream come true.I feel sad and annoyed with my late discovery of audio book listening :(

One of my sister in law came to visit me with her two daughters ,one married and with her two years old cute girl who had quite adventurous time here and played and experimented with almost each toy in shelves :) we enjoyed her cheerful presence. They spent almost six hours with us and left late night. My sister in law had her  younger daughter along too but she was busy with her smart phone all the time like all kids of her age mostly do.It was nice to have them after many months.

My eldest son sent me few photos of his hiking with friends. He is happy that sun showed up in Munich eventually and they could go for outing as constant rains bored him so much.He adore summer of Germany and the lush scenery it provide to eyes.We are happy for him.

"every move of nature is a miracle but we are so habitual to realize this " i read this quote sometime ago and found it divine!

features of earth tell the story of life on earth triumphing  after long ,long and really hard struggle, if we see and ponder we find that each creation is result of unbroken persistence and constant struggle .Which is not possible without divine passion and selfless devotion .

my son told these were private boats own by people living near the lake ,he said it was beautiful day and they really enjoyed hiking .

See you soon dear Friends!
Keep treating yourself and all around you with kindness because this is only thing we leave behind!
Blessings and best wishes to all of you!

  4. Dear Baili, your compassion and understanding of others and your absolute honesty are threaded through this posting as they are in each posting you writing. Thank you for sharing your life with us. The photographs your son sent are lovely, especially the green rolling vista of trees.

I'm so glad for you that you've discovered audio books. I've been listening to them for many years. They were a part of my daily walking for 3 to 4 miles, which I did for about 30 years when I lived in Minnesota. Now I listen to them as I cook and eat my meals. Helen Keller is such an inspiration. I so hope you enjoy that audio. I tend to listen to history and to mystery novels.

Take care and know that we are all grateful to come to know you through your blog. Peace.

  6. I cannot begin to imagine what a sandstorm is like. Here, the red soil blows around from the fields but we only see evidence of it on our windows. I cleaned mine today as part of my spring cleaning.

Thank you for sharing your life with us, Baili.

    1. we have open house means have big front yard and windows in walls of rooms ,even in small four feet back street for ventilation so such stormy season brings heavy dust and sand inside ,may be in future when we buy house in Islamabad we prefer small and closed than this one as energy level dropping with age swiftly :)

  15. What a beautiful son you have, he always thinks of you and wants to help you - I don't like air con, I think it stops you acclimatising so when you leave the house your body can't cope with the temp change; but then again I don't live in a hot country like you so only experienced the issue on holidays abroad for a short time! I am fascinated by the buildings in dubai using the ancient method of creating a natural air conditioning https://99percentinvisible.org/article/windcatchers/ if only we adopted these methods in our buildings that have been going for centuries and stepped away from so much technology it might help our planet. Your son is seeing some very pretty places, it's good that he enjoys exploring/hiking, most young people these days seem to be too interested in alcohol/bars :)

    1. thank you for dear Betty yes i am really blessed to have son like him and first time i felt proud of him when he hardly twelve and went back all the way to market to return extra money that shopkeeper had paid him mistakenly,he had given him five hundred note that he mistake with one thousand as it was rush hour and shop was crowded ,my son realized it when he was giving me back change .Sense of satisfaction that ran down into my bones was deep as all i wanted from lord is a family that relies totally on Faith it has on God and in themselves then.

i agree that older ways for many things including air conditioning were better and echo friendly but our modernization is where facilitating us to great extent on the other hand causing environmental issues and fridge and air conditioners are contributing huge amount to it

  16. What a chore it must have been as you said, Baili, to clean up from that sandstorm. Hopefully, these are not occurrences that happen very often. Your son is very generous in wanting to send money for an air conditioning unit, but as you wisely noted it would mean higher electric costs for your family. And you are more honest than those others who cheat on their bills. How do they get away with doing that because it hardly seems fair to others who pay their bills. Of course, our apt has a/c available but we prefer to leave the windows open as much as possible. The photos that your son sent from his hike were lovely and how beautiful an area he has shown you and that you shared with us.

I "discovered" audio books during the time when our local library was closed, but these could be downloaded. Now I listen to them when exercising, cooking, doing laundry and housework. It is wonderful to have someone telling me a story and many of the narrators change voices depending on the characters. I am sure you will enjoy them as well. And it is also how I started enjoying e-books on my Kindle and now I do not read a hardcover book because the downloaded ones are more convenient.

  17. sand storms take place from May to till end of the July mostly Dorothy ,it was challenging when we moved into this house which was totally opposite of previous one bigger and open from all sides but except early few months i felt it not that bad for me as i found i was being more active this way, summer cleaning was really challenging in the beginning but my nature helps me to adopt new things quickly and have faith :)
my eldest son would help me to clean then he was thirteen only but very kind and caring like his father ,i would make poetry about frequent cleaning and sing during cleaning lol ,i was always stupid lol
oh i love listening audio book ,i can't expree how grateful and happy i am for exploring this :)

  19. Hello, Dear Baili, I am glad that you didn't have too much damage from your sandstorm except for a lot of clean-up! I used to live in the South West in the desert near Tucson, Arizona, and we would get sandstorms and it was very hot in summer. We stayed inside except for early mornings and evenings when the wind would cool things off. The dust would swirl around in little tornadoes that we called, 'Dust Devils'! I have never read Tolstoy, but it is on my list. I have read the biography of Helen Keller. She was amazing and a true inspiration. It is nice to have visitors that you haven't seen in a long time, especially little ones. I've always thought that land is a good investment and hope it gives you a good return. Your son is very generous and I hope that he enjoys some nice hiking weather soon. xx Karen

    1. oh i could never imagine that your part of land can be as hot dear Karen

oh yes living near desert is tough ,we too have desert close to us naming Thar and in summers strong winds pick tons and tons sand from there and spread it in surrounding areas.
i am coping with sand storm since thirty years and knowing that everything like this is part of nature's chore hurts me quite less :)

about land tes we too have hopes !
my son is gift indeed and i pray may each mother have one like him amen!

  21. Hi Dear Baili, I just now read this in your profile: "Hi every one, I write whatever comes in my mind, I consider this beautiful world as our home and all living in it as one family." That is so perfect! I admire your ability to put such a profound thought into words as well as you do. I enjoyed reading about your recent life events. I wish you the best as trying to stay cool as hot weather approaches. We have same situation in Seattle. Very cool and mild climate 10 months of the year, but the other 2 months can be tough, especially now with climate change. Your son's photos are great! Thank you for sharing your blog and your visits to mine! Blessings and best wishes to you from Seattle! John

  23. i enjoyed catching up with your post. It sounds so hot there but good thing you have shade. Interesting how so many people get their utilities covered there. I would also be reluctant to do it. The photos your son sent are beautiful. He sounds like such a good guy. I never got into listening to audio books but reading you makes me rethink it.

  24. That sandstorm would scare me, since it would be new to me. Is it hard to breathe with all that sand and dust in the air during the storm? Your son's photos are beautiful, and good for you that you bought a plot of land, with the money your son sent for ac.
